Open House Fall '10

Yesterday I attended the semi-annual Open House at Dog Guides. 6 months ago I attended the last Open House and picked up baby Torino. He has grown up a considerable amount in that time and was a model future dog guide at this event.

The most exciting part of the day was meeting Sylvia McNicoll at the event. If you don't know who that is, she is the author of the Bringing Up Beauty series that got myself as well as many other young canadians into fostering. She was actually there getting footage for a book trailer. In the third book of the series, the dog in the story is a female Golden Retriever named Magic. Although Torino is not female, he was the only Golden present, and therefore was chosen to be videotaped. Although their are no photos on her blog Torino and myself were atleast mentioned. We will see what comes of it!
